Vampires crave blood, and in Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong you’ll have a lingering hunger for it. But how do you reduce it?
At the top of your screen in Swansong you have two status bars. One is an energy meter, and the higher it is, the better. The other is your blood hunger level, and the lower it is, the better. You are a vampire, so naturally you need blood to thrive. But how do you do? lower your hunger level in Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong†
How To Reduce Your Hunger In Swansong
There are a few ways to reduce your hunger pangs, but one is more important than the other — and that’s drinking some blood. To do that, you must feed on a mortal.
Fortunately, it is quite easy to do. First you need to find a safe room. Most areas have at least one safe room and it is marked with a symbol at the top of your screen when you enter. Then you need to find an unsuspecting victim. Walk up to a non-story-related NPC and you’ll be prompted to suck their blood.
Press triangle (Y on Xbox) and you’ll start a short cutscene followed by a QTE. You have to hold the right trigger to feed them, but the trick is to stop before you have completely drained their blood. Killing them will eventually raise suspicion, making your job much more difficult.
Occasionally, a story-related mission or challenge can also reduce your hunger level in Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong. For example, if you correctly answer Halsey’s riddles in the party research mission, your hunger level will be lowered. And sometimes doing a confrontation challenge right has the same effect.
Finally, you can pick up some consumables that will reduce your hunger. Press your menu button and then switch to ‘inventory’. Hold down X (A on Xbox) to use an item.
Why do you have to satisfy your hunger in Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong?
Keeping your hunger levels in check is an important part of Swansong. A big part of the game is taking on showdown challenges, where you have to convince an NPC of something, or generally “win” a conversation. And many options will increase your hunger.
If you run out of hunger points, it will block all options you can’t afford, limiting how you can progress.
So, keep an eye on your meter, and if it starts to get too high, think about looking for a human to eat from. Just don’t kill them!
